i have connected my network adapter to a 5m usb cable but it does not work, do i need a repeater cable?
i need to get my network adapter nearer to my virgin media netgear hub i connected a 5m usb cable to the adapter but it will not work (a memory stick works in it so cable must be ok) some one mentioned a repeater cable would probably do the trick is this right? i need to get nearer to the hub as signal not very good and keeps disconnecting
USB is for short distance. You should get a network cable to go from your netgear hub to the USB network adapter and the USB network device should be plugged straight into the computer.
Alternatively use wireless and buy a cheap wireless USB stick from ebay.
