I don't play games or do anything graphic intensive. But do watch dvds. Will this thing work for me ?
A good deal. You did not mention the graphics card, which is probably an Intel GMA 128mb or 64mb, which is bad if you're a gamer, so i'd say no if you were running graphics heavy e.g. Half Life 2 or something.
Good RAM, Intel is not a good choice processor wise. An AMD single core 2Ghz would beat your dual core, but it's good nevertheless.
If you're running graphics heavy no. If you're a standard computer user, sounds good.
EDIT - Incase you don't know, the varying graphics card means it'll eat into your RAM to increase graphics. So, if you're being graphic heavy, it's good for being able to upgrade.
But, since you're not using graphic internsive, go get it pal!
