Question about mobo RAID and controller cards?
If I were to buy a motherboard that has RAID support would the motherboard support RAID with drives from a PCI SATA controller card?
Not necessarily.
Each manufacturer has it's own way of handling RAID data and error correction.
So I would instead backup to an image and restore onto the new RAID. Even then that might not work because the image uses a different RAID driver.
