I'm trying to connect to several Cisco Routers & switches to a Cisco rollover console cable. My Laptop (Dell, dual boots Windows XP and Novell works well under Windows, but I am having trouble under SLED10 it does not have a nativ 9 pin serial port, so I am trying to use USB to Serial adapter cables via 1 of the USB ports. I have done a lot of online searches, and I understand I need to make sure that my USB cable-roll cable is recognized. I do not know how to do this at all. Secondly I do need to install & configure a terminal emulation program just like Minicom to set up the port-cable parameters.
