windows 7 screen is blank?
my computer is (centra inspire 1100sb notebook)...with windows 7's aero effects not working,,it asks for driver update for video card..the update file is(Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. - Display - SiS Mirage 3 Graphics)...then after it insatlls the update ..it asks for restart,,after it restarts the computer is working but the screen is completely balnk!!
note; i logged to the computer in safe mode and rolled back to the last driver which is standard vga ..but aero effects dont work and it needs update,,,the update windows choose makes the screen blank,,,what should i do?
Sounds like you may have got the wrong update. Try turning off. Remove the battery and charger/adapter, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to discharge any residual current.
Replace the battery and charger/adapter and turn back on.
If that doesn't work...
On start up (before Windows loads) keep tapping either F5, F8 or F10 (be aware that some manufacturers use F8/F10 for system recovery) then use arrow keys to highlight 'Last known good configuration' hit Enter/Return, click on a user account, enter the password (if you don't know it, there probably isn't one so leave it blank) and hit return/enter.
If that doesn't work, try again, but this time highlight 'Safe Mode' hit Enter/Return, click on a user account, enter the password (if you don't know it, there probably isn't one so leave it blank) and hit enter/return.
A window will pop up asking if you want to carry on with safe mode or use system restore. Choose system restore, pick a date and time before the problem occurred and confirm.
**Be aware that restoring in Safe Mode cannot be undone!**
