Can I force my computer to reconnect to network drives without rebooting?
My computer is connected to an external SCSI array, and lately, it keeps losing the drive. The drive letter just disappears from My Computer/Windows Explorer. If I reboot, the computer finds it again, so I feel like my cable is fine and the SCSI card is working. Is there a way I can set some sort of scheduled task in Windows to reconnect automatically to the SCSI drives every hour or two so the connection is not lost overnight when it is needed the most and no one is awake to fix it?
Mike suggested using a NET USE command, but that only works on network drives. This is a local drive. Thanks for replying but that won't work.
Well, I replaced my SCSI card, adn that fixed the problem. I'll click BEST ANSWER for Mike since my title did say "network" even though I did not mean it. For that set of criteria, his answer would have been the best.
