What are the components of a computer system unit and how to they communicate with each other?
Computer Systems
A computer system contains
Motherboard - This is the main part of the system which helps all the other components communicate with each other.
Processor (CPU - Central Processing Unit) - This processes everything your computer does
Memory (RAM - Random Access Memory) - This temporary holds data which is needed by the processor so that programs, games etc... can be run
Hard Drive (HDD) - This holds all your files, programs, Operating Systems etc...
Graphics Card (GPU) - This helps display graphics onto your monitor, depending on the type you have some can only show the Operating System and a few images, however a bigger and better one will be able to play high graphics games and video etc...
All of these devices communicate by using something called "Bus" which is located on the Motherboard. Now multiple devices can be connected to the same Bus which means they need to be controlled, and this is done by a Bus Controller.
Devices that directly communicate with other devices without communicating with CPU and RAM are called "Bus Mastering" devices.
