cant load ios to flash useing tftp?
with the prompt at router(boot)> i tried to load the image useing a tftp server(pumpkin) and it wount work.kinda seems like when it looks for the image that it is looking on the network.
i changed the reg to 0x2101 to be sure but it failed.The flash mem i'm useing has been erased prior to installing into this router any ideas.......this is a 2500 cisco router
When you use TFTP to load an IOS image file you are using the network. Its been a while since I've had to deal with a 2500 bootrom, but you should be able to TFTP an image from boot mode.
Of course there also is Xmodem from the rommon, but that is SLOOW.
