what version of linux/ubuntu will work with a toshiba L650?
I have a toshiba L650, I installed ubuntu 10.10, but it won't read the wlan/wifi card and I was told that older versions of ubuntu/linux would be better since 10.10 only works with certain wlan/wifi cards, anyone have any suggestions on which version I should use to not only read the wifi card, but also which is best to run World of Warcraft(WoW)?
I spent two days trying to get the right drivers and setting to attempt to get ubuntu to work with wifi/wlan card, all kinds of commands, drivers, ect, still hasn't worked. Also tried playing WoW, didn't work(I was hooked up to a friend's lan connection). So I have given up on it, so now I've been trying to reinstall windows, but I keep getting the same error and nothing seems to fix it, error being "dvd/cd device driver missing, please insert driver disk". I read about it, saying it's an error with the harddrive and not the dvd/cd drive, tried switching from a sata to ide drive, didn't work. I swear this is driving me mad.
