how hot does your average 1000 watt electric hotplate get?
i need to know this for a little science experiment i need to get a hotplate that can get up to at least 200 celcius. i just want to know what wattage i need to acheive that temp
200 celsius is a little above frying temperature, well within the capability of any hot plate. But you want 200 celsius at some point away from the hot plate, and that depends on how big it is and how much heat is lost before it gets to your work piece. Try it and decide if you need insulation. Maybe you will, maybe not.
BTW, 1000 watts is a rather high powered hot plate. It should work just fine.
