Is a home gigabit network worth it?
It seems that most of the transfer rates of my equipment are below 1 gigabit, and hence 100 is ok. Is teh gigabit advertising a con?
NO it is not worth.
It is used in corporations extensively to move real large amount of data - databases etc.
It did not catch in consumer market because nobody works with so vast amount of data as corporations, As for consumer video I read that Steve Jobs from Apple said : "Apple does not put Gigabit connector in Apple TV unit because 100 is completely enough to move movie, video or songs from Apple TV to computer."
