Is it true that clear fingernail polish will prevent a small rust spot from spreading on a vehicle?
I am not a DIY-er, and I do not want to pay to get any sort of treatment done - but I have heard that clear fingernail polish will prevent a rust spot from spreading on a vehicle. Does anyone know if this is true? And if it IS true, does it wear off and need to be re-applied every so often?

Yes it will help but not if you seal in the moister causing rust, use a hair dryer to dry out area first. Let nail polish set up over night and use a good car wax. As long as you keep car waxed good you should not have to reuse the nail polish.
