Direct Burial CAT6, which type to use?
Is there a difference between outdoor UV resistant cable and direct burial cable, and should I go with standard direct burial or direct burial Gel filled ?
I guess you're running a 295 foot cable then? It'll work out a lot better than the phone cable you wanted to use, good choice.
An outdoor UV resistant cable is for use above ground, unless it's specifically labeled for burying.
A Gel filled cable will provide better water protection than standard direct burial cable, but it's a mess to work with. If you're in an area that gets a whole lot of rain that will penetrate the ground to the cable frequently, then I'd go with the gel filled cable. Otherwise the standard cable will suffice.
