How do you get PS2 to work with digital cable adapter?
Got a TV from someone. It works but has no remote, except for the one that the cable company gave us with the digital adapter. Can't figure out how to get the PS2 to work with this TV. Don't know how to get the TV into "Video" mode. No menu button on TV either; just volume and channel buttons. Tried using a universal remote but can't get that to work either. The TV works fine with the cable remote. Any suggestions please? Thanks!
Does the TV have RCA Inputs (red, white, and yellow)? If it does, then hook the PS2 up to that and change the Source (Video) on the TV.
If the TV only has the Cable (Coaxial) Input, then you have to use an RF Adapter ( http://www.amazon.com/Unit-Adapter-Playstation-PS2-1-2/dp/B0019LJ6QI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306109406&sr=8-1 ) and will put the TV on channel 3 or channel 4 (the RF Adapter should have a switch to use either channel, if not, you will use channel 3).
You should be able to find an RF Adapter at any local electronics store, such as Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, Fry's, Best Buy, etc...
**EDIT**
You will not hook the PS2 up to the Digital to Analog box (the one the cable company gave to you), unless it has RCA IN ports (if the ports say OUT, you can't connect to them with an incoming device, such as the PS2). If the TV does have RCA Inputs and you can't find a Source/Video button, you will have to try different universal remotes until you can find one that will switch the Source.
