My computer recently got stuck in one of those endless loop cycles. i was able to erase the hardrive and reinstall Windows XP Home Edition, everything was going fine while i was looking for the drivers to install to connect to the internet from another computer. I rebooted the CPU that i was reformatting a few times and the last time i rebooted it, it got stuck on the loading screen. I powered it down, then restarted it into safe mode to try and see if i could fix the problem. It froze again while loading into Safe Mode but this time at the desktop screen. I powered down a second time and tried to go into Windows Setup with the reinstallation CD but noticed i couldn't because the mouse nor the keyboard were working. I tried all of the USB ports and even a PS/2 keyboard and it still will not work. I'm stuck without being able to use the keyboard to even get into windows setup. What should i do? The mouse and keyboard were all working fine before it started to freeze.
Sounds like the original problem wasn't your HDD...You've got motherboard issues.
