Help. Ip phone at home?
I stupidly bought an ip phone off ebay (it was 2 am) thinking it would be absolutely fine to use at home with the other analogue phones. Whilst wide awake, I have now realised that its not that easy. Its a bt Meridian phone or nortel networks :s. If I can use it easily with the normal analogue phones, great, please tell me, if not can I use it through my computer or something. Please help!
The (BT/Nortel) Merdian series are intended to connect to the Merian PABX
internal to a company.. so you would need a Merdian PABX to get it to work.
Some of teh models had an Analogue connection...
but most were (propriatory) digital only.
You need a SIP phone or a SIP ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter)

Free to recieve calls, and make them between SIP accounts (even other companies SIP accounts), and a bout 1p/min to call almost anywhere in the world..

But the merdian, put it down to experience (and sell it on to someone who may well want it...)

oy can get a free software phone called X-lite for the PC..
works just like a normal phone to the world SIP standard.
