How do I go about installing a high speed usb port to my computer?
My printer requires a usb port to connect to my pc, no problem, except every time I turn the pc on, a window pops up and says I have a highsp. device plugged into a non high sp. port. I don,t have a highspeed port.How do I get one?
If you've got a laptop, ignore what I'm saying.
If you've got a desktop PC with spare PCI slot, then - check that you have a spare PCI slot in your PC and go purchase a USB 2 (Hi-speed usb) board - not at all expensive. Remove the covers from your PC. Find a (often the only ???) spare PCI slot. Remove the blanking plate at the rear. Insert the card. Screw down the back-plate with its connectors. Replace the PC cover. ***In theory***, you shouldntn't need to install software - it should auto detect - but if a CD came with the USB 2 board, install it.
