How do i extend my wires of my power supply to allow cable management to increase airflow?
I have a OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply, I own a HAF 912 case and am hoping to extend the wires so that they will go behind the motherboard, and come out through the holes in the motherboard to help airflow.
What type of wires should I buy?
What sort of cost may I be looking at?
And is this sort of job possible?

Of course moving the cables away helps airflow... Only needed though if the system cooling is a borderline problem.
Most cases have removable covers.. one on each side, One is for the hardware installation which is the one obviously with the most room. The other is to be able to access behind the motherboard mounting plate as to be able to route the cables behind it. I generally use this approach as when building a windowed system it looks so much neater but does help airflow issues too. PSU's supply 12v, 5v and GND so there is no chance of overheat in the cables.
As to extending the cables... It isn't advisable unless you are a competent DIY Electronics engineer or something similar. I will happily sit there and de-solder the old cables and re-solder longer correct grade cables into the PSU then re-crimp the socket connectors on.
What is needed...
15w and 25w Soldering irons with spade tip and point tip and standard soldering equipment.
De-soldering Pump and/or De-soldering Braid
2 - 5mm crimping Pliers
12v braided cable (If you cannot get all colours use parcel stickers to label each cable)
1 Solder wire Tin Lead 1mm .039" sn63 Flux
Tub of Flux
Wire wool (to clean PCB connections)
Silver Connector Pen or Paint (Just in case you break the tracks on the PCB)
Pen and Paper to label wiring diagrams.
Required amount of molex connectors
20/24 Motherboard connector
P4 Connector
PCI-E Power connectors if needed.
As to cost - It totally depends on what equipment you already have.. Soldering iron etc etc
Connectors will cost around £5 - £7
Solder costs around £4 - £5
Crimping tool around £4 - £5
Flux - £2
Wire - £5 - £8
