How do I share my usb internet connection with another computer?
I have an Altell internet card and it plugs up via usb... I was wondering how I could set it up so that when Im home my other computers could have the internet too
You would need to have a network connection with at least 1 other computer.
This set of connections is possible:
ISP -- modem -- usb cable -- your computer -- Ethernet card -- switch -- other computer(s)
You'd probably need to purchase the following
1) ethernet switch
2) ethernet card (or you computer probably has one already since you are connecting via USB to the modem)
3) 2 ethernet cords
Additional software configuration is needed to bridge the local network over to the Altell network. ICS needs to be setup (see the links)
