My computer starts up fine but right as I reach the login screen the keyboard and mouse seem to fail.?
The red light on the bottom of the mouse turns off and the Scroll lock, caps lock etc. lights turn off on the keyboard. Since this happens I can't be sure whether my screen is frozen or my keyboard/mouse don't work. (I am running in Windows Vista)
Sorry, I forgot to mention, the keyboard and mouse light up until the point it comes to log in.
I would have to say its a bios problem. since you dont even login to windows and your mouse / keyboard fails .. its not a windows thing. i would bet its a bios thing that may need flashing ( updated) another suggestion try a liveCD of a linux distro. just go to www.linuxmint.com download the liveCD burn it as a CD image (.iso) using ur fav software or use imgburn.com ( its free) and boot off the CD ( liveCD of linux wont touch your harddrive) and see if your mouse works on teh linux live cd. if it does then its a windows thing .. if not then its a bios thing!!>
