hi i just bought a toshiba laptop is slow, it has window vista.?
Compurt especifications: module satellite L45, precesor Genuine lntel (R) CPU T2080 @ 1.73ghz, memory ram 503mb, operating system 32 bits. is an intel dual-core inside, 1 gb. i do architecture drawings and need speed. what can i do to make it faster.
if you do any sort of CAD, a notebook will not cut it.
the first thing that you need is a lot of RAM. 512 MB is much too little by today's standard. i'm running on 4GB of ram. next, you need a better processor. i have a quad core doing CAD (very affordable now, because intel and amd have come out with a new line of processors); again, i'm on a desktop, not a laptop.
additionally, a good video card would be highly beneficial: the laptop you got has none.
the only laptops that can do CAD at a good rate is Sager, but their price is outrageous.
if it has not been 14 days, return the laptop, and save up for a better one, or invest it towards a desktop
if you still want to keep the laptop, downgrade it to xp. it will run a lot smoother.
