How can I rewire a MAC Studio Monitor to work with standard DVI. Adapter is too expensive.?
The current connection has extra pins, apparently for usb. It would be nice to pull out the USB if possible.
The big problem is that the old Studio monitors had an ADC connector. The big difference is that the ADC connector pulls power from the video card to power the monitor. The converters not only change the connector to a standard DVI but also provide the appropriate amount of power.
Not saying it's impossible but it would be a pretty tricky project.
