why is my laptop getting really hot?
My laptop gets really hot and there is a loud whirring noise too. Its not as if it starts hours after being on it, it gets hot quite quickly. Its a 3 year old Compaq laptop. Im using it on a hard surface as I was told the fans need to be clear.
I find its more hot/noisy when im on the internet/gaming.
You undoubtedly have a dust build-up on the fan and the air intakes. This is difficult to clean out in a laptop unless you really know what you're doing.
I suggest you ask a local shop what it would cost to clean out the dust.
