swap hard disk.......................................................?
im planning to swap the hard disks of two computers that are having different OS (linux and windows xp...both computers have no cd-rom. will both computers function or not?
From what I have tried, both OSs are flexible and adaptable.
What both will need are the drivers for the computer that they are swapped to.
Windows should be easier to find drivers for.
Are the computers connectable to the net?
For Linux, try MInt flavor of Ubuntu, as it connects to the web better and with
less problems then Ubuntu. It does matter which Linux distro you are working with.
And likewise it is good to understand the limits of
Windows.
A good idea would be to get the needed drivers while the HDs are connected to
the original computers, assuming that the original computers have a connection.
Also you might try a dual boot system for one or the other.
