1970 Chevy Caprice?
I have a 1970 chevy caprice, I want to know what it's worth. It has a rebuilt 400ci engine and trans. about 7,000 miles ago. almost perfect interior, The body is excellent there is some rust but very little and what rust is there it is surface rust. The paint is not horrible but could use a paint job (scuffs and scraches here and there) Im not sure if it is the original engine, the numbers are gone. The was 156,000 miles on it before the overhaul. I can put a picture on here if I new how. Any help would be apperciated. 50% tires and Keystone wheels.

I own a shop, and do a lot of restoration work. I don't know what some people on here are thinking, but this is getting to be a very highly sought after vehicle. People make them up with different front ends, and customize them into some very nice rides. They are putting like 22 inch wheels on them, and they are going up in value really fast. With 156,000 miles on it, it may need to be rebuilt, but if its not knocking, one can do a quick rebuild on it pretty cheap. If the numbers are missing on the block, this means someone had the block decked to get the heads to seal better on them. This doesn't hurt their value as the numbers can still be raised from the block, and stamped again. This car can bring about 4-6 grand in some of the larger cities right now as it is. Look at the harmonic balancer, a 400 has one that looks like its has a chunk taken out of it. The freeze plugs in the block tells the story too. A 400 has 3 and a regular small block has 2. If you can get the car at a good price, then it would be a good one to pimp out. I see more and more of these every day, and in some places they have became the rave.
