What happens to the camera(digital) when it's life cycle is up?
Do you junk it/keep it as a paperweight and bring it to an authorized repair shop to replace the shutter?

Except for clients who only need web content, my D100's were replaced with two D200's about a year ago. I sold one of the D100's and converted the other to an IR only camera.
Because the Nikon's are designed with all the professional quality my F4's were, I can expect them to last and last and I am sure their life cycle is NOT 100,000 shutter cycles like the Canon 30D's My oldest D100 has over 180,000 cycles on it and it is still performing flawlessly.
When it comes to compact digital cameras, then just be responsible and recycle the cameras. Better to let someone use it than to use it as land fill.
