Does PS2 controller USB adapter actually work for the PS3?
...to use a ps2 controller for ps3?
I know it wont work on some games due to button sensitivity for L and R buttons and some other features, but will any ps2 controller adapter work as long as the other end is a usb? Im looking at ebay and theres a lot that says PS2 to PC, but will that also work for PS3?
Both yes and no so let me throw you some advantages and disadvantages with the ps2 to usb on the ps3, so I am leaving out the pc.
Advantages:
1. Its cheaper bc you could get the the converter for almost nothing which means you could use your ps2 controller instead of buying the ps3 controller which is kinda expensive.
2. No need of charging since its wired you don't need to charge as long as you got power running through the system your set.
3. Lighter bc you don't need batteries on the controller.
4. No trigger buttons which I hate bc my fingers slide.
Disadvantages;
1. A annoying cable that you can trip and messes up your good looking entertainment system`s, plus you cant go far either.
2. No SIXAXIS bc the ps2 controller doesn't have that and in some ps3 games it`s mandatory, for-example in mgs4 when your beating screaming mantis. You must use the SIXAXIS to take here out with here own doll bc you have to shake the controller, I found that out and glad I have a ps3 controller. So you should at least have one ps3 controller bc it might get mandatory.
3. You don't have the PS button but you can use the button that is under the select and start, which is the button to enable and disable the analogue sticks. But you can use that button WHILE the system is on, which means you cant power the system on from the controller but you can power the system down.
4. You cant see what player number you are bc you don't have the LED on top like you do with the ps3`s controller, but if you press the analogue button (3) you can see it put then the game goes into pause.
5. Sure you don't have the stupid trigger button but I wouldn't missed them but that's me.
