can you mix cat cabling standards(or what am I doing wrong)?

I am wiring a computer to a router. On the router end I have a cat 5e cable running to a cat 5e toolless keystone(jack). I have the toolless jack wired with cat 6 bulk cable, which then runs to another cat 5e toolless jack. Finally I connect the computer to the jack with cat 5e cabling. So far, I have had absolutely no success. So what possibly could I be doing wrong? Please ask for more clarification

you can mix cat cables.
Have you tried checking all the links one at a time?
One thing you might want to check is to make sure you don't have a cross over cable in the mix...

Best way is to check every link individually.
Check each cable you are using going directly from the router to the computer.. and then check every jack with a cable known to work.
