How can I reset a usb port without reinstalling the usb host controller?
I have a creative zen vision m and I bought a usb cable that directly plugs into the device (as opposed to using the stupid dongle). I plugged the usb end into my DLink 7-port USB hub and got a Power Surge dialog box or whatever. It allowed me to reset the port after I unplugged the device, but there are other disabled ports on the hub and I want to reset those without uninstalling all usb host controllers and resintalling from the stupid Windows XP installation disk or whatever retarded solution some people have put forth to other questions.
You don't need the disk. Just uninstall and then scan for hardware changes. It will reinstall automatically.
