Will a netgear modem work with a linksys reciever?
I have a linksys modem but it is quite slow so i am changing to a 150mbps netgear one. But on my second computer there is a small box with an antennae on it which picks up the signal. It is from linksys so will it work with a netgear modem?

I assume that you mean router not modem. And your linksys router is not the reason you see slowness. That either comes from the plan you pay for from your ISP or your computer is clogged with malware.
That being said it seems you are moving from a G type router to an N type router. The new N type router will connect easily with any wifi adapter on your computer. However, the one thing you need to consider is that if any one of your network devices is G type that will force your router to operate as a G type router. There are some N models that are Dual Band. Then they can connect with G and N type devices at the same time. These are the more expensive ones.
