With each group separate choices like SHA or MD5 and DES, 3DES AES.
So how exactly can you say I want to use SHA and not MD5.
I know SHA is more secure than MD5 so why should you use MD5.

Are you using a 3000 VPN Concentrator or a Router? For the concentrator, follow these steps to use AES:
Configuration --> Users --> Groups --> [select existing group and click Modify or create a new group] --> IPSec tab --> Uncheck "Inherited" box to use different settings than the Base group --> Select ESP-AES128-SHA from the IPSec SA pull-down menu.
The reason MD5 is a choice is so that you can accommodate clients that only have that available. Also it might be less CPU intensive while still providing pretty good encryption.
