I am trying to find out which is better, go for the quad core computer with 2.2 ghz processing speed or the duo 3.0 ghz processing speed same specs, i just want it mostly for gaming and recording videos etc....

Get a Quad with HyperThreading, like a Q9400 or better, or an i7.
For straight gaming...my favorites are the E8600 (for non-overclockers), or the E8400 or E5200 (for major overclockers).
