itried to setup a home network..using USB for setup..now my desktop won't connect to net..but laptop does?

desktop...after i removed the usb device(the networking wizard on my laptop told me to use it from one computer to the other..but it didn't work)

What USB device? The wireless adaptor? I have to agree with the first answer. ME didn't have a particularly large uptake for a good reason. It is a bad OS. I'm sure you'll see on the back of the box of the adaptor that it's not even listed as an operating system. I use Vista HP which I have found to be exceptionally comfortable to use and the device support is great.
Without knowing the at least the basic specs for your equipment, I can't be much help. I'm going to guess that the laptop is new? Probably better able to cope with the USB drivers.
