LED's for Computer Serial Number on the Casings and Monitor Identification?
I wanted to know if there is a product offered that can be attached on a PC chasis and monitor to display the serial number. Similar to that found on servers which is built-in but this is an extra attachment.
I want this system for desktop support for my company so that the user just has to tell me the serial number and I can connect to his machine using remote desktop. Without asking the user to follow instructions to tell the comoputer name or IP address.
I'll be deploying the machines with new naming system which my company has put forward. The number will be linked to the accounts, procurement, IT inventory, etc... system as a whole. We use DHCP rather than static IP's, moreover the serial no's as the computer names makes sense as we just need to change the owner on the database system, No changes required on the machine.
When you first supply the system to your user, determine th serial number and print it on two metal tags. Affix one to the PC case and one to the monitor
